Eagle Point National Cemetery is situated within the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon. It is located 12 miles northeast of Medford, Oregon and 2 miles southeast of Eagle Point, Oregon. The cemetery was known as the White City National Cemetery until the name was changed on March 19, 1985. The first interment was on March 7, 1952. There is a total of 43 acres with 20 acres currently developed. There are more than 6,000 interments at this time and we expect to be able to accommodate more than 10,000.
The Schulmerich Carillon, located on the grounds, was donated to the cemetery by the AMVETS (American Veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam) in 1985. The carillon chimes Monday through Friday on the hour from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. followed by a religious song. Funeral services usually begin with the carillon chimes. COMMUNITY
INVOLVEMENT In recent months we have had numerous visitors who have complimented us on the improvements we have made; and have expressed a desire to assist us in maintaining this facility. Some have wanted to become volunteers assisting with grounds maintenance and clerical work. Others have made inquiries as to how they could donate landscaping materials or funds for the beautification projects. We greatly appreciate this kind of support; and while our regulations will not allow us to solicit, we would like you to know that you can become involved in either a volunteer program or participate in a program to help with donations.
